Red Kup
About This Spot
Stepping into Red Kup on St Nicholas Avenue feels like arriving at a quietly cherished neighborhood nook, where the hum of the city softens and genuine connection bubbles beneath the surface. The pace here is unhurried, inviting you to settle in with a breath and savor the little moments—a shared smile from the owner, the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee beans, the gentle clinking of cups and conversation blending into the playlist softly filling the air.
This petite coffee shop carries the warmth of a home away from home, where familiar faces and new visitors mingle over thoughtfully crafted beverages and carefully tended treats. The menu glides effortlessly between comforting classics and subtle surprises; think the buttery crescent of a croissant just out of the oven, the delicate spice of a chai latte stirred with heart, or the brightness of an avocado toast that feels both nourishing and light. It’s a place where sweetness meets a hint of spice, whether in the cinnamon roll rising with fragrant ease or the bold bite of a smoked salmon bagel crowned with luscious lox and fresh lemon.
What lingers in the air is not just the scent of coffee, but a sense of pride and care—the kind that comes from someone who knows the importance of being present behind the counter every day, ready to craft something that feels made just for you. It’s easy to find a quiet corner and let the world pause, or to engage in warm exchanges that feel less like transactions and more like moments of kindness shared over foam and flavor.
Red Kup invites you to slow down, to savor the subtle harmony of food, drink, and atmosphere — a reminder that the best local places aren’t just about what’s on the menu, but the way you feel while sharing it with others.

Wow just wow This cafe has something for everyone. I’ve never really been to a cafe before that checks all of my boxes but this place is truly something special and last of its kind. The owner is an absolute sweet heart and takes such pride in everything he does! I’ve been coming here for almost a year and the owner has never missed a day behind the counter. It’s a little home away from home, emphasis on little but what it lacks in space, it makes up for in character. Everyone in the community is welcome and treated with such respect, and I do mean everyone. This cozy cafe has outlets everywhere, heaters in the winter, great music playing, and food and drinks to die for. In regards too that, expect a wide array of hot and cold drinks, incredible gourmet coffee and my favorite, a pistachio matcha latte that will blow you away! The food is no joke either, croissant sandwiches with fresh ingredients, cakes, eclairs, cookies, muffins and paninis, I mean there’s not much lacking in this space, except for space, but trust me that’s only because the people who know about this place don’t miss a beat to get their hands on the deliciousness. The owner is truly in love with his business and you can tell. In fact, tell him yourself he’ll surely be there. You’ll want to after one of his specialty lattes. NYC needs more cafes like this where the love comes pouring through. It’s even open into the evening for any night coffee drinkers, so go grab a spot while you can, (mid day to late night) and tell them I sent you! I can’t brag enough about this wonderful place. (Im not endorsed by the business)

Found Red Kup while staying near by. The longer I was there the more I was impressed. Great coffee and the food was fantastic. So glad I found this independent small business. Tiny place with huge flavor and quality!

Mama, I'm home. Que bueno! Staff incredible, Kaleb was incredibly thoughtful and made the most perfect beverages for me! I ordered the Butter Sage Hot Latte (taste aromatic and buttery smooth) and the Marzipan Frap (not icey but creamy cold) ! Wow. Just perf. The music and ambience is fantastic. If you stop in, be kind and be patient- they're worth the wait! Some of the best coffee I've ever had Uptown and that's on 30 yrs of being a coffee drinker.

One of the best coffee shops in NYC because of its exquisite food, friendly service and chill atmosphere! I highly recommend Red’s salmon bagel… it’s insanely good especially with some lemon juice on top and with some chai tea on the side My mom and I started coming when it first opened and have loved it ever since. Food in pics: salmon bagel; bagel with avocado, spinach and egg; and a fresh cinnamon bun.

Red K up is by far simply the best coffee & bakery shop in all of Harlem. I have lived here my entire life. RedKup coffee shop gives such a warmth and comforting atmosphere from the moment you walk in there is nothing like it. The staff is by far very friendly and welcoming, catering to everyone’s needs with acknowledgement by your name or a smile from the moment you walk in. If you are looking for something that is more homestyle and not franchised I employ you to come to the Red kup coffee & bakery shop on 145th and Saint Nicholas ! And if you have a sweet tooth forget it this is the place for you to be. Ask for Red or Kaleb they will take great care of you. Love you guys !

The owner and baristas are very nice! Super helpful and informative about their menu. This place is so cute and clean. The seating area is set up with benches and some high top chairs. They have an excellent selection of coffee, teas, and amazing fresh pressed juices. Also their pastries selection is good along with breakfast sandwiches. So thankful to have a lovely place like this in Harlem.

A gem in Sugar Hill! The Chia Latte and pastries are always delicious. If you have time to sit and hang out here, I highly recommend! The vibes are 10/10!
